State-of-the-art facilities

Our Alameda shipyard was designed and built as a state-of-the-art, 21st century ship repair facility with shops, equipment, supplies and personnel all located as close to the work site as possible. Our Syncrolift® and land based rail transfer system provides us enormous flexibility by allowing on the ground 360 degree access around the vessels to complete all necessary work evolutions as efficiently as possible.

Our facilities include a 20,000-square-foot building that houses our machine, fabrication, joiner and propeller shops, 90-ton and 30-ton mobile cranes and 1,200 feet of pier-side berthing. Additional buildings include offices for management and support personnel, as well as a 50,000 square foot fabrication warehouse specifically designed to accommodate marine vessel construction.

Syncrolift®
Our Syncrolift® transfer system hauls vessels up to 1200 tons and 62 meters (200 feet) and transfers them by rail to a number of shore-side dry-berth workstations.

Dry-dock
We provide multiple docking options to accommodate both large and small vessels, including a floating dry-dock that lifts vessels up to 120 meters (390 feet) and 3000 tons.

Berthage
Bay Ship dry-berth workstations feature solid catchment basins to ensure a cost effective method for the capture of all contaminants for processing and environmentally safe disposal. All project-required services and utilities are conveniently located directly adjacent to each berth, including: 480-volt 3-phase electrical power, fire mains, gray and black water disposal connections and dry compressed air.

Treasure Island Berthing Facilities
Bay Ship has recently activated its new pier facility on Treasure Island in the heart of San Francisco Bay, which is available for yard overflow berthing and pierside ship repair.  Originally designed by the US Navy to accommodate a battleship, the Bay Ship TI pier is a solid concrete structure measuring 930' by 120' with fender piling and a floating superyacht pier installed on its southern face providing safe haven for both commercial vessels and superyachts awaiting a shipyard dry-docking date or requiring pierside repair work.  This secured and gated facility has full services including 480 volt, 3 phase, 60 Hz electrical power, freshwater and sewage connections.
