Bay Ship & Yacht Completes Refurbishment on Red & White Fleet’s
Harbor Queen Ferry

Alameda, CA, May 14, 2009 – Red & White Fleet’s Harbor Queen returned
to service ferrying commuters and tourists between Alameda, Oakland and San Francisco following routine preventative maintenance and standard US Coast Guard inspections conducted at Bay Ship & Yacht in Alameda, CA.

Bay Ship & Yacht’s team of expert craftsmen performed the routine inspections, maintenance and repairs in adherence to US Coast Guard requirements to ensure that the Harbor Queen, a two-deck, 300 passenger ferry, met the stringent requirements for the safety and comfort of its passengers. Harbor Queen was also given a beautiful new paint job to withstand the daily abuse from weather, currents, corrosive environment, and performance demands to which Bay Area ferries are subjected.

All work was completed on-site at Bay Ship & Yacht’s Alameda waterfront location, utilizing many of Bay Ship’s departments and services. Bay Ship’s facilities include dry-docking capabilities for large vessels up to 3000 tons and 120 Meters (390 ft), a 1200-ton and 62-meter (200 ft) Syncrolift® with a land based rail transfer system to allow dry-berthing for multiple vessels ashore, a machine shop, fabrication shop, pipe shop, joinery shop, paint shop, blast booth, propeller shop, and a full service naval architecture and marine engineering department.
