Bay Ship machinists are experts in all phases of main and auxiliary machinery and equipment installation and repair. Services include shipboard and shop work on propulsion shafting, pumps, valves, motors, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, deck gear, etc. Our full service machine shop is equipped with all necessary tooling and equipment including lathes capable of turning 40-foot long propeller shafts and accomplishing ABS approved shaft welding procedures. We have all shop equipment required to precisely machine, cut, mill, broach and drill materials for all types of fabrication and repair needs. We also specialize in the installation and alignment of main engines and the analysis and cure of vibration problems.
Our metal working shop can manufacture and build a full range of steel and aluminum structures and shapes. Shop equipment is in place to cut, bend, roll and break metal structures and parts for both marine and industrial applications. Our welders are ABS and USCG certified and work with all exotic metals, including stainless steel, copper, nickel and bronze.
